I almost don’t want to let you in on my secret. A
huge part of me wants to keep Tossa de Mar as my own personal hiking trail, my own day-hike escape from Barcelona. I could keep you away from here by saying, “Oh yeah, Tossa is really pretty, but I used HDR filters and a ton of post-processing. I know the water looks beautiful but it wasn’t actually that vivid in real life.”
But I didn’t use HDR. And it was that beautiful in real life.
The internet is flooded with over-saturated, HDR photos and after a while I think we started to get jaded by them all. There have been a few places I’ve visited that have paled in comparison to their edited Instagram counterparts and I’ve found myself disappointed with the lack of majesty on more than one occasion.
Málaga, Spain was certainly really beautiful, but the edits from those shooting days were more like this.
Tossa de Mar, on the other hand, blew me away!
We climbed up and around the coast with beautiful, unobstructed views practically every two feet.
Around every corner and down every hill, magical views of sapphire and emerald spread before us.
There were so many photo opts!
This beautiful shift of color was visible to the naked eye, no processing needed. Tossa de Mar is truly gorgeous.
A beautiful hike with multiple beaches to choose from, I can think of no better introduction to the Mediterranean than Tossa!
Past the beaches, we trekked through a densely-packed forest of beautiful wildlife and popped out to yet another vista.
You can buy the paintings on La Rambla…or you can see it for yourself!
To complete the perfect package there’s even a castle at the far end of that point.
So now that you know about Tossa de Mar….let’s just keep it our little secret ok??
